Oxfordshire runs some of the world’s leading science facilities, is a global centre for fusion energy and builds MINI cars and Formula One cars. Bernoullis delivers engineering recruitment Oxfordshire employers can trust, from Oxford and Harwell to Culham, Didcot, Abingdon, Banbury and Bicester. Our engineers recruit engineers who work alongside scientists and racing teams.
If you are comparing recruitment agencies in Oxford, the difference with Bernoullis is simple: we only recruit engineers, and every candidate is screened by someone who understands the work.
Engineering Recruitment Oxfordshire: Our Lead Sectors
We recruit in every discipline, but these three sectors create most engineering jobs in Oxfordshire.
Fusion energy
Culham needs mechanical, electrical, remote handling, vacuum, cryogenic and nuclear safety engineers for fusion research and decommissioning.
Space and big science
Engineering jobs in Harwell include accelerator, detector, space instrument, controls and mechanical design roles at national facilities.
Automotive and motorsport
Engineering jobs in Oxford and Banbury cover vehicle manufacturing at MINI and design, composites and test roles in motorsport.
Why Oxfordshire Needs Specialist Engineering Recruitment
Engineering recruitment Oxfordshire employers need is centred on science campuses south of Oxford. Harwell Campus has more than 250 organisations and 7,000 scientists, engineers and innovators, and 33 companies moved in or expanded there in 2025. It is home to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, with around 1,200 staff, the ISIS neutron source and Diamond Light Source, which is undergoing a £519m upgrade. The UK Space Agency, now part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, is based there too.
Culham, a few miles away, is a world centre for fusion energy. The campus has more than 3,000 people across 45 organisations, including 17 fusion companies. JET, the fusion experiment that ran there for 40 years, is being decommissioned, and a new £220m facility called LIBRTI is being built to test how fusion fuel can be bred. Culham is also the UK’s first AI Growth Zone, with a data centre planned to start at 100MW. Milton Park, between Didcot and Abingdon, adds 280 companies and more than 9,000 people.
Oxford itself mixes cars and quantum technology. BMW’s MINI plant in Cowley employs around 3,500 people, and IonQ made Oxford its global R&D headquarters after buying Oxford Ionics in 2025. Williams Racing builds its Formula One cars in Grove, and Prodrive is based in Banbury. UKRI’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory page shows the scale of science work at Harwell. We recruit engineering jobs in Oxford, engineering jobs in Harwell, engineering jobs in Banbury and across the county.

Where Oxfordshire’s Engineers Train
The University of Oxford’s Department of Engineering Science and Oxford Brookes University, known for motorsport engineering, both feed local employers. The South Central Institute of Technology has a hub at Activate Learning’s Blackbird Leys technology campus, and Abingdon and Witney College runs engineering courses.
Culham is a major training centre in its own right, with more than 150 apprentices across the campus, and the national laboratories at Harwell run graduate and apprenticeship schemes. These routes feed engineering jobs in Oxfordshire, but experienced vacuum, cryogenic, controls and motorsport engineers remain hard to find.
